Consider the fact that all our parents were young people before becoming our mothers and fathers. Rethink judging their life choices. There is no way we can ever know the lives of our parents before we were born – their struggles and heartbreaks, happy times, or relationships with their own family members.
If we think of our parents as human beings, not saviors, and If we can look at our own lives, realizing how long it is taking us to learn to parent, then maybe we can be a bit more tolerant and appreciative.
Think of your parents with love, whether alive or in spirit.
Have a wonderful holiday season, and look forward to sharing more of my thoughts after the New Year.
